Professor Gail S. Goodman, the Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of Center for Public Policy Research is at University of California Davis. She is widely acclaimed for pioneering the study of witness testimony by children and the eyewitness memory in legal settings. Prof. Goodman has published extensively as well as received numerous grants. She has also received many international and national distinctions. She has worked with various government agencies and governments across the globe on policy as well as research on children as victims within the legal system. She currently acts as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center located at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a fellow of many professional organizations including those of the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychological Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). Prof. Goodman is a fellow of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and also the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as president of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy on Child and Family and Practice Division, American Psychology-Law Society, and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
